Let’s explore Webb ACI

What is Advance Cargo Information?

Developed under the World Customs Organization (WCO) SAFE Framework of Standards, Advanced Cargo Information (ACI) is designed to secure the flow of goods, simplify trade processes, and protect customs revenues.

ACI is a critical component of modern trade facilitation, enabling customs authorities to collect essential shipment data before goods arrive at ports or airports. This system enables customs to assess risk, optimise inspections, and manage shipments effectively.

In some countries, ACI is also known as the Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN).

Webb ACI fully aligns with the WCO's SAFE Framework, ensuring compliance with globally recognised declaration formats and practices.

How does it work?

Webb ACI integrates with any customs operations management system, as well as Paylican, Webb Fontaine’s electronic payment platform, to facilitate smooth and easy payment of ACI fees by exporters. Webb ACI also includes a robust risk management feature, allowing customs authorities to pre-assess the level of inspection upon arrival of shipments.

Key functionalities of Webb ACI include:

  • Timely and transparent declarations: Simplified creation and approval of advanced cargo declarations, ensuring data accuracy and transparency.

  • Real-time monitoring: Webb ACI benefits from an intuitive platform design, simplifying the entire pre-shipment information lifecycle for all stakeholders.

  • Comprehensive coverage: Supports both imports and exports, for all types of handling units, including FCL and groupage containers, RoRo vehicles with VIN management, bulk, and general cargo.

  • Integrated data: Interfaces with the Customs Management System for up-to-date reference tables, such as HS codes, tariffs, exchange rates, approved customs brokers, etc. The ACI reference becomes mandatory in customs declarations, enabling validation checks to verify data accuracy.

As with all our solutions, Webb ACI is powerful on its own but becomes even more impactful when seamlessly integrated with our other services, such as Webb Valuation and Webb Transit Tracking, creating a well-rounded and comprehensive solution suite for enhanced trade facilitation.

Currently operational in Libya through a partnership with the Libyan Customs Authority, Webb ACI exemplifies Webb Fontaine's commitment to trade facilitation, offering a user-friendly platform that enhances transparency, efficiency, and security in global trade.
