On 27 May 2026, we attended the XII International AEO Seminar in São Paulo, Brazil. Organised by Procomex and supported by the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service (Receita Federal), the seminar was held under the theme "Building Connections for Efficient and Compliant International Logistics".
The event brought together public and private sector stakeholders to discuss how stronger procedural, systemic and structural linkages can create a more agile, transparent and internationally aligned logistics environment.
Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) programmes sit at the heart of this discussion. They reward businesses that meet high standards of compliance and security with faster, simpler treatment at the border. For Customs, they make it possible to focus controls on higher-risk shipments. For traders, they bring predictability and lower costs.
Making AEO programmes work well depends on connection: between Customs and other border agencies, between government and business, and between national systems and international partners. Digital platforms that share reliable data securely are a key part of that picture.
