Webb Fontaine speaks at the Kenya–Namibia Trade Mission

On 8 and 9 September 2026, we attended the Kenya–Namibia Trade Mission, where our Senior VP of Sales, Ali Noor, took part as a speaker.

The mission explored a question with implications well beyond the two countries: what happens when East Africa's export economy connects with a Southern African logistics gateway, and what opportunities could this create for the rest of the continent?

Kenya brings a strong export base, while Namibia offers a gateway into Southern African markets. Linking the two could open new routes for goods, shorten journeys to market and strengthen trade within Africa, goals at the heart of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Making those routes work in practice depends on more than infrastructure. Efficient Customs procedures, connected systems and reliable data sharing between border agencies are what allow goods to move smoothly from one market to another. That is where digital trade facilitation plays its part.

Ali captured his observations from the mission in a blog post, looking at the opportunities ahead and what it will take to realise them. Read Ali's reflections here.

We are proud to contribute to conversations that bring African markets closer together.
