GUINEA: Webb Fontaine Group has been chosen to implement its Single Window platform for Foreign Trade
An agreement on the establishment of the Single Window for Foreign Trade in Guinea was signed on Wednesday, February 06th, 2019 in Conakry.
Under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, Dr. Ibrahima Kassory Fofana, the convention which was the subject of an international tender on the concessioning of the supply, implementation, operation and management of Single Window platform for foreign trade formalities, procedures and operations in the Republic of Guinea, was signed between the Minister of the Budget, Mr. Ismaël Dioubate and the CEO of Webb Fontaine Group, Mr. Didier Reymond during an official ceremony at the Kaloum hotel.
Guinean Ministers of Economy and Finance, Mamadi Camara, Industry and SMEs, Tibou Kamara, and Commerce, Boubacar Barry, Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Guinea (BCRG), Lounsény Nabé, senior officials of the Guinean State and several heads of international institutions or representatives of the country’s technical and financial partners were present at the ceremony.
The Prime Minister reminded in his speech that this platform will bring simplification and standardization of trade procedures, swiftness in commercial operations and ease of trade with the rest of the world.
The Guinean Single Window platform for Foreign Trade which will be implemented will strengthen the mobilization and securing of revenue.
As regards the follow-up of the project, the Minister Dioubaté stated that a steering committee placed under the authority of the Prime Minister has been created. The role of this committee is to oversee the implementation for better monitoring by the Government.
According to the CEO of Webb Fontaine, this is a major project that will modernize the trade environment while aligning Guinea with international standards and best practices.
